A finely crafted Chippendale Revival partner’s desk in rich mahogany, distinguished by its serpentine outline and elaborate carved ornamentation. The moulded edge encloses a gilt-tooled leather writing surface, the warm tones of which harmonise beautifully with the figured mahogany veneers.
Each pedestal is fitted with four graduated drawers to the front, with corresponding cupboard doors to the reverse, combining utility with elegant design. The drawers retain their brass swan-neck handles and escutcheons, while the panelled sides and shaped bracket feet reflect the Georgian influence. Intricate carved details — including foliate motifs and rope moulding — further attest to the high level of craftsmanship.
